Our founder's journey

Romancing with coffee started in Boston, during my MBA, when a simple V60 dripper became my gateway to the world of specialty coffee. What began as a cost-saving measure soon turned into a daily ritual, as I discovered that coffee could be so much more than just a bitter drink. That first cup, with its syrupy texture and unexpected acidity, opened my eyes to the vast depths of speciality coffee. Before I knew it, I was deep down the rabbit hole, experimenting with brewing methods and chasing that perfect cup every day.

  • This journey didn’t stop at brewing coffee; it became an obsession with understanding everything about it. From working as a barista to visiting coffee farms and roasting my own beans, I immersed myself in the craft. With the guidance of mentors at Boot Campus like Valerian and Willem, I honed my skills in sensory analysis and roasting, soon becoming a Q Grader. Every step of the way, I learned that coffee is a never-ending journey of discovery—a journey that requires patience, dedication, and a relentless pursuit of perfection.

And toise is the culmination of this journey!
